From the streets of Naples, the local deep-rooted coffee ritual inspired our dark roasting method, which masterfully developed the coffee to an intense degree. Leavened with Robusta, the result is a velvety, creamy cup with an extremely thick body and a pleasant, bitter aftertaste. A tribute to the roasting proficiency of the Italian capital of coffee.
We created Ispirazione Napoli as a blend of Robusta from Uganda touched with Arabica. We carefully selected coffees that could stand up to the intense roasting this blend calls for – bold coffees that would develop the gritty yet beautiful aromas, tastes, and textures that reflect Naples’ deep-rooted coffee history and traditions.
Ispirazione Napoli’s very dark and intense roast reflects Naples’ traditional dark roasting method. Long ago, you could walk the narrow lanes of Naples and catch the bold aroma of this roast as Neapolitans roast their coffee in the ground floor homes that opened out into the street. During this deep roast, the coffee beans develop gritty yet beautiful characteristics. This is reflected in a thick, velvety body, a creamy mouthfeel, and a delicious bitter note. It takes real skill to roast to such a degree, and the boldness of Ispirazione Napoli’s roast endeavors to be an homage to the skill we’ve long seen in the Italian capital of coffee.
